The Apple program called AC Wellness promises a “unique health care” and will presumably be run as a subsidiary company of Apple. The company believes that a trusting and accessible relationship with patients, facilitated by technology, provides high-quality care and a unique patient experience. AC Wellness is currently looking for GPs, nurses, health care coaches, and blood sampling specialists.
According to CNBC, the marketability of in-house health products such as apps or digital technologies will also be tested in these centers. The vacancy of a “designer” whose job is to implement a program focused on preventing disease and promoting healthy behavior, underlines this assumption.
Apple has not yet released an official statement on these plans. The entry of technology companies as a medical services provider and its consequences for the entire healthcare system cannot be finally evaluated yet. The future will show which changes will occur. SKC is an expert for all issues of digital health and will keep you up to date with our blog.
