Innovation hub Germany – dream or reality?
Jens Spahn, the German federal minister of health, emphasized during his welcome speech the importance of creating a reliable framework to maintain Germany's status as a hub for pharmaceutical innovations and to become a leading AI hub.
The program of the event included lectures, (panel) discussions and workshops to questions like
- Does Germany still have the best healthcare system in the world?
- Which role do German drug innovations play today?
- How are new technologies changing diagnostics and therapy?
- What are the challenges in the development and supply of orphan drugs?
SKC's managing director Prof. Matthias P. Schönermark, M.D., Ph.D., was enthusiastic about the diverse conference program. After the event, he commented: "All important decision-makers of the industry are gathering at the House of Pharma & Healthcare conference. It is really enriching to merge the different perspectives of the experts to prepare future approaches for the innovation hub Germany."
On the eve of the event, the German Patient Prize had been awarded to the Sindelfingen hospitals for their innovative program which recruited 75 volunteers to support with reducing delirium incidents, which is a life-threatening acute state of confusion among people over the age 70 years.
