360º Next Generation Healthcare

"360º Next Generation Healthcare - Navigating Smart Health powered by Smart Healthcare Business" is the topic of the first European Health Summit, which is organized by "The Health Captains Club" and will take place from March 27 - 29 in Heidelberg, Germany.

During the event, the keynotes are meant to spark big ideas.

• The first day will address the following questions: Is Europe sufficiently equipped for the future challenges? Are we prepared for the next crisis, or do we need a fundamental structural and financial reform? What are we doing in Europe to develop a resilient and crisis-proof health system, that puts the people to the center and has a holistic approach? What can we learn from other countries?
• On the second day, the Heidelberg Health Sciences Leadership Cluster intends to push US President Joe Biden's #CancerMoonshot initiative, which aims to reduce cancer mortality by at least 50% in the next 25 years, and the EU Beating Cancer Plan with the keynote speech and a subsequent discussion. The cluster consists of the university of Heidelberg, the two university hospitals in Heidelberg and Mannheim, various research centers, such as the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research (MPI-mF) and the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI), and healthcare companies, such as BASF, Merck, Sanofi and Roche, as well as more than 400 small and medium-sized enterprises.

Panels will also be held to go into the details, leading to debates between all participants to create concrete next steps.

Prof. Matthias P. Schönermark, M.D., Ph.D., founder and managing director of SKC consulting, will be the expert on orphan medicine and will discuss the issue "From Imprecision Medicine towards Precision Medicine & Precision" together with Dr. Philip Stevens, CEO of Noscendo GmbH, in a Fireside Chat.
