According to a study with around 200 Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) experts from Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, German entrepreneurs are more critical of digital assistance systems than its Danish and Danish counterparts. Ingolf Rascher, spokesman for the German AAL Academy - Federal Association for Ambient Assisted Living (Deutsche AAL Akademie – Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Ambient Assisted Living), presented the study results at the Xpomet (March 21st – 23rd, 2018 in Leipzig, Germany):

The study shows that our Danish and Dutch neighbors specifically acknowledge the application-oriented benefits of the AAL systems and regard digitization as a great opportunity to minimize bureaucratic hurdles and drive forward the development of cross-sectoral forms of care. By contrast, German companies are reacting rather hesitantly to the digital boom, with major concerns regarding data protection. The German study participants also pointed out that not only economic interests, but also ethical aspects should be emphasized in the discussions. All the AAL experts have high expectations that the technical assistance systems will provide greater spatial and temporal flexibility – especially in administration.

On June 13th, 2018, the SKC Beratungsgesellschaft invites all interested parties to the CEBIT, Europe's Business Fair for Innovation and Digitization held in Hanover, Germany.  Join us there at the event d!talk healthcare No. 8 for a cross-industry discussion of the current state of digital transformation in the healthcare sector.
