The previous winners include Satalia, a company which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to improve organizational decision-making and allocation processes such as scheduling of operating rooms and bed availability in intensive care units.
Navenio is developing an "Uber” for hospital transports in cooperation with the University of Oxford. An interoperable smartphone application developed by Navenio will help to locate available porters and equipment more quickly and efficiently.
The development of individualized medication management could be further driven by financing of FabRx. The company from Ashford in Kent wants to revolutionize the production of drugs with the help of a new 3D printing process. In the future, the dosage of active agents in tablets could be tailored to individual patient needs and several compounds will be combined in a single pill.
