Cooperations and alliances in health care

The first Hanover strategy day addressing the role of competition in the German health care system took place in May 2006. The focus of the event was the future financing of the health care system as well as the opportunities for innovative and unconventional cooperations and their effects on the quality of patients care.
The networking of health care through innovative models such as integrated care was regarded to be of great potential and importance by speakers and participants alike. The keynote speech was given by Prof. Michael E. Porter the strategy guru of the Harvard Business School during which he presented his views of novel definitions of the health care system.

Top speakers included Professor Michael E. Porter, director of the institute for strategy and competitiveness at Harvard Business School; Dr. A. Tecklenburg, Board of patient care and vice president of the Hannover medical school ; RA S. Kleinke, partner at Wigge-Kleinke-Frehse; R. Sjuts, chairman of the board of the German BKK; Dr. P. Blees, director of the healthcare policy at Merck Pharma GmbH; A. Hölzer, chairman of the board of the Marseille clinics AG.
