What defines good medical care? Strategic challenges of the quality of care

The 6th Hanover strategy day offered a mixture of keynote lectures and interactive world cafe sessions discussing the theme „the quality of care". During intensive discussions strategic challenges facing payers, service providers, industry and patients were discussed, and preliminary solutions were developed. The main conclusion reached by the approximately 220 participants and experts of the field was that good quality of care is possible and affordable if all responsible parties act together. However, this requires some adjustments to the legal framework. The remarks and results of the event were published by Dr. Michael Meyer, RA Dieter Möhler, Prof. Dr. Matthias P. Top speakers included Prof. Dr. Amy C. Edmondson, Harvard-Business School; Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach, speaker of health policy of the SPD-parliamentary group; Cornelia Rundt, the health minister of Lower Saxon, Germany.
