Rare diseases: What is the future for innovations in Germany?

On October 17th, Thomas Müller, head of the department for drugs / medical devices of the German Federal Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wasem, professor for medical management at the university of Duisburg and Prof. Dr. Matthias P. Schönermark, managing partner of SKC consulting will meet in Berlin.

At the event, titled "Rare Diseases: What is the future for innovation in Germany?", the three experts will discuss the following topics with physicians and patient representatives in two panel discussions:

  • Old and new challenges for providing care to people with rare diseases: What improvements have been made, and which areas require further action?
  • Pharmaceutical and research location Germany in danger? What is the potential impact of the GKV-FinStG on innovation and care for people with rare diseases in Germany?

The event is organized by Alexion Pharmaceuticals in cooperation with the German Pharmaceutical Industry Association ( Bundesverband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie, BPI) and will take place from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. as a hybrid event in Berlin (AXICA Kongress- und Tagungszentrum, Pariser Platz 3) and online (Zoom).
