Donation for online platform for rare skin diseases

In Germany, the children's and youth hospital AUF DER BULT is one of only two children's hospitals that specialize in the outpatient, day-care and stationary treatment of children with skin diseases. One focus of treatment is on rare, congenital skin diseases such as epidermolysis bullosa, also known as "butterfly disease" or "EB" for short.

Online case conference for diagnosis and care

As part of a pro bono project, SKC is supporting the pediatric dermatology and allergology of the BULT in the area of the genetic and so far incurable disease EB.

Prof. Matthias P. Schönermark M.D., Ph.D. a, managing partner and founder of SKC, promoted donations with the Lucky Dollar campaign on a regular basis during his term as president of the Rotary Club Hannover-Leineschloss. On the occasion of passing on his presidential office, he symbolically handed over the collected, generously rounded-up donation amount of EUR 5,000 to Rebecca Draegerdt, outreach nurse of the BULT on June 26, 2023. The money will be used to establish a server-supported nationwide online case conference for the diagnosis and care of children with rare, severe skin diseases such as the "butterfly disease".
